Bantul Regency is a regency in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Its capital is Bantul. The motto of this district is Projotamansari stands for Productive-Professional, Ijo royo royo, Orderly, Safe, Healthy, and Asri. It is adjacent to Yogyakarta City and Sleman Regency in the north, Gunung Kidul Regency in the east, Indian Ocean in the south, and Kulon Progo Regency in the west. Sightseeing Pantai Parangtritis is located in this regency area.

The southern part of this regency is a limestone mountain, the western tip of the Sewu Mountains. The large river that flows in between Progo River (limiting this district to Kulon Progo Regency, Opak River, Kali Tapus, and its tributaries.

On May 27, 2006, a massive earthquake measuring 5.9 on the Richter scale caused considerable damage to the area and the deaths of at least 3,000 Bantul residents. The worst areas affected by the earthquake were Pundong and Imogiri.

Tourism of Bantul District

If lucky, traveler friends can see the orange luster covering many beaches like Parangtritis Beach, Parangkusumo Beach, Depok Beach, to the beaches at the western end of Yogyakarta Special Region.

At the top of the hill there is a flat rock commonly used for paragliding, the stone is commonly referred to as the "watu meja " because of its flat shape like a table, in addition to view the sunset, here we can also see the sunrise, but it is famous here is the sunset.

Parang Endog Hill is located in Girijati Village, Purwosari District, Gunung Kidul.
